This magnificent creature of burlesque is Eloise---a variant of Louise meaning 'warrior maid'.With her purple satin corset and Bettie Page hair cut (if somewhat wayward) she is the picture of the vintage pinup, and draws strength from her erotic power over others.....men and women alike.
This cloth doll is from my collection of 'Moggy dolls'. The name refers to the printed panel cloth dolls used centuries ago by rag merchants as shop sign advertisments. Each moggy doll currently available is hand drawn nd coloured with pencil, ink and acrylic paint onto cotton mix fabric with a patterned black and white fabric back, and filled with pollyester soft toy stuffing.
The designs are taken from my own bad kitten pinup designs and from my stopmotion animation films. More designs are still to come. This batch are OOAK but there will be a limited run of printed versions available soon so you can collect them all.
