Meet my adorable little traditional Hindu baby girl, Preema Shanthi. The English translation for her beautiful name is "love" and "peace". Preema was reborned by me from the "Olivia" vinyl sculpt kit made by sculptor Ros Johnson. Her gorgeous East Indian skin tones have been achieved with Genesis heat set paints, cured by baking to assure permanence.
Preema has a full head of microrooted dark brown/black premium angora mohair from Slumberland Nursery. She also has handrooted eyelashes in the same color. Her brows have been painted on one stroke at a time. She has blush colored nailbeds on her fingers and toes and tiny off-white nail tips. Her lips and nails have all been triple sealed with an acrylic gloss to prevent chipping or peeling. Her hair and lashes have been sealed with a waterproof adhesive inside her head so that you may dampen and gently comb, brush and/or style her hair.
This sweet baby girl is weighted to feel like you are holding a newborn baby in your arms. Preema weighs 4 lbs. 8 oz. She is weighted with tiny glass beads in her limbs, as well as the same glass beads which in encased in nylon sacs in her body and head. She has a "floppy head" just as you would find in a brand new baby. The glass beads are topped off with fluffy premium polyfill which makes her incredibly soft and cuddly! She is also lightly scented to smell like a freshly washed baby!
Preema will arrive wearing a gorgeous, brightly colored sari shown in her pictures, which was handmade by me especially for her. Being a Hindu baby, she also has a black "bindi" on her forehead. This is the black spot that is traditionally put on Hindu babies to keep them free from evil. Also in the Hindu tradition, she wears a sweet silver anklet on one leg.
In addition to her 3 piece sari, she will come home to you with a sleeper for nighttime, a fleece blanket, some barrettes, a toy, her Laurie's Lullabies Birth Certificate and care instruction sheet. Preema also has a tummy plate which is adorable when she is being posed.
